MSP Communications, researcher and publisher of Rising Stars Super Doctors, has an intensive process to select physicians to be included in their annual publication. This year, Anthony P. Berg, M.D., Michael D. Garcia, M.D., Cortland K. Miller, M.D., and Amit T. Darnule, M.D of Spine Team Texas are included in the publication.
According to Mark Hood, C.E.O. of Spine Team Texas, “Not only are physicians vetted for personal accomplishments, they must have attained peer recognition during the relatively brief period of time they’ve been in practice.”
To be eligible to be included in Rising Stars, candidates must be active physicians fully licensed to practice for 10 years or less. Candidates are evaluated over 10 different areas ranging from fellowships to honors and awards. No more than 2.5 percent of physicians within Texas are named to the Rising Stars list.
MSP allows doctors to nominate colleagues in their specific field. The physicians are asked, “If you needed medical care in one of the following specialties, which doctor would you choose?”
After the nomination, evaluation and paneling processes are complete, only the highest-scoring doctors are included on the Super Doctors and Rising Stars list.
